Beginning today, Google rankings will consider the website’s Mobile Friendliness to be an important part of its search rankings. Google says that searches from mobile devices are now about half of all searches they handle. They are therefore beginning to rank the sites on their ability to be used on a mobile device.
Sites will rank lower for shortcomings like displaying links that are hard to click, or forcing users to scroll horizontally.
Google says that while mobile friendliness is a new important factor, the intent of the search query will still create higher rankings for pages with higher quality content.
